About the role

As a Supply Chain Development Project Manager, you will serve as a key liaison between Gulfstream and one of our major suppliers in the Phoenix area. You will lead supply chain improvement efforts, solve complex operational challenges, and help ensure suppliers can meet production demands while delivering quality products on time. This is a highly visible role with significant impact across the business and expected regional travel of up to 75%.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Gulfstream contact for major supplier(s) in the Phoenix area.
  • Lead supplier assessments to evaluate production readiness, capacity, and operational performance.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and drive action plans through completion.
  • Partner with suppliers to improve delivery performance, quality, lead times, and overall efficiency.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Analyze supplier operations, production planning, materials management, capacity planning, and workflow processes.
  • Support supplier transition plans while minimizing impact to Gulfstream production schedules.
  • Facilitate daily operational meetings, recovery plans, and milestone reviews with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Act as a liaison between suppliers and Gulfstream stakeholders to ensure clear communication and issue resolution.
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics, capacity plans, training plans, and project plans.
  • Identify root causes of operational challenges and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Coach and mentor suppliers and team members in problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Support the most critical supplier and supply chain challenges across the business.
  • Lead elements of assessments to determine suppliers' ability to meet production rates.
  • Utilize standardized assessment tools to identify opportunities for improvement in operational areas such as maintenance management, production control, materials planning, system analysis, productivity analysis, cost control, production planning, capacity planning, machining and assembly, internal quality control, and other lean manufacturing principles.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to suppliers, driving actions that address opportunities and validating implementation with measurable improvement.
  • Gather standardized leading indicator metrics to proactively address negative trends that may adversely affect delivery performance.
  • Assist suppliers in developing performance metrics, capacity plans, employee training matrices, milestone plans, and project plans.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor problem-solving skills to create problem solvers within the organization.
  • Participate and lead joint continuous improvement events.
  • Establish methods to identify and track root causes and provide corrective action.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six (6) years of operational and/or supply chain experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience leading projects and driving measurable business results.
  • Ability to analyze complex manufacturing and supply chain challenges and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working directly with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business applications.
  • Ability to travel extensively, including more than 75% travel as business needs require.
  • Computer literate with project management skills and working knowledge of analytical problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing environments and manufacturing processes.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification.
  • Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related operational experience.

Education and experience requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 6 years combined operational and/or supply chain experience to include proficiency with LEAN/Six Sigma tools and concepts. Lean/Six Sigma certification in area of discipline preferred.
