Nesco Resource is partnering with a global leader in the petrochemical and manufacturing industry to hire a Supply Chain Customer Service Representative for its Houston team. This role is focused on managing B2B customer accounts, coordinating orders from start to finish, and working closely with supply chain, logistics, sales, and operations.

About the Role

This is not a traditional call-center position. The role involves serving as the main point of contact for customers, proactively communicating with them, analyzing demand and buying trends, and resolving issues throughout the order fulfillment process.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned B2B customer accounts
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and follow-up
  • Manage customer orders and support the order-to-fulfillment process
  • Coordinate closely with supply chain, logistics, operations, sales, and other internal teams
  • Proactively contact customers regarding orders, product needs, demand changes, and service-related issues
  • Monitor customer buying patterns and identify increases or decreases in demand
  • Analyze customer and order data to anticipate needs and identify potential issues
  • Resolve order, shipment, inventory, and customer service issues while ensuring timely follow-through
  • Help identify opportunities to retain existing business and increase customer satisfaction
  • Balance customer needs with operational and business requirements
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
  • Maintain accurate customer and order information within ERP and internal systems

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a corporate B2B environment
  • Experience in customer service, supply chain, order management, logistics, customer operations, inside sales support, or a related field
  • Strong customer-facing experience via phone and email
  • Ability to manage customer relationships rather than solely process transactions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization, multitasking, and follow-through
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and basic math skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience

Qualifications

The strongest candidate will be someone who can say, "I own the customer relationship and make sure their orders and needs are handled from beginning to end." We're looking for someone who is proactive, comfortable contacting customers, understands how customer service connects with supply chain and operations, and can use data to anticipate customer needs.

  • SAP or other ERP experience (highly preferred)
  • Manufacturing, industrial, chemical, petrochemical, plastics, or oil & gas experience (highly preferred)
  • Supply chain and order fulfillment experience (highly preferred)
  • Experience analyzing customer demand, buying patterns, KPIs, or order trends (highly preferred)
  • Experience working with logistics, inventory, warehouses, or transportation (highly preferred)
  • Lean/Six Sigma or process improvement exposure (a plus)
  • Bilingual or multilingual communication skills (a plus)

Benefits

  • MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan including Medical, Vision, and Dental
  • 401K
  • EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services

This contract-to-hire opportunity offers the chance to join an established global organization with exposure to multiple areas of the business and long-term opportunities for professional growth.
