About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Analyst to support and enhance business-critical enterprise applications across supply chain, logistics, warehousing, distribution, inventory, and aftermarket operations. This role will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, application developers, testing teams, and production support organizations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business processes, system capabilities, and operational requirements to identify opportunities for process and technology improvements.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives, pain points, and functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear, detailed functional requirements, process flows, use cases, acceptance criteria, and actionable delivery plans.
- Collaborate closely with application developers and technical teams supporting COBOL, JCL, IBM Db2, IMS, batch processing, and file-based integrations.
- Analyze system dependencies, upstream/downstream impacts, data flows, interfaces, and operational risks associated with application changes.
- Support supply chain and business processes including warehouse management, inventory, distribution, fulfillment, order management, logistics, parts operations, aftermarket operations, and returns.
- Lead cross-functional discussions involving business users, developers, architects, testers, production support, vendors, and managed service partners.
- Serve as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders by translating technical concepts into business-friendly language and clarifying business requirements for technical audiences.
- Participate in solution design discussions and evaluate proposed solutions against business requirements, system constraints, and operational considerations.
- Support application testing, including test planning, requirements traceability, defect analysis, user acceptance testing, and implementation readiness.
- Participate in production support activities, incident triage, root-cause analysis, problem management, and resolution of business-critical application issues.
- Assess the business impact and operational risk of system incidents, defects, enhancements, and changes.
- Coordinate and support change implementation, release activities, and post-production validation.
- Work across multiple initiatives and priorities while maintaining accountability for deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder communication.
- Identify opportunities to improve legacy processes, integrations, data flows, and application capabilities.
- Support integration initiatives spanning mainframe, distributed, middleware, API, file-based, and cloud-connected platforms.
- Work effectively in Agile, product-based, waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
- Independently manage ambiguity, proactively identify risks and dependencies, and drive work through completion.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- Significant professional experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or similar IT delivery role supporting enterprise business applications.
- Demonstrated experience working in mainframe-supported enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of or experience collaborating with teams supporting COBOL, JCL, IBM Db2, IMS, batch processing, and file-based integrations.
- Proven ability to translate complex business needs into clear functional requirements and actionable delivery plans.
- Experience supporting supply chain, warehousing, distribution, logistics, inventory, fulfillment, aftermarket, or related business processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate business impact, system dependencies, data flows, and operational risk.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional discussions with business stakeholders, developers, testers, architects, and production support teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for business audiences and translate business requirements into clear information for technical teams.
- Experience supporting production operations, incident triage, testing, defect resolution, and change implementation in complex enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, prioritize competing demands, and drive results across multiple initiatives.
