Supply Chain Analyst – Reverse Logistics & Packaging

About the role

The Supply Chain Analyst – Reverse Logistics & Packaging drives efficiency and cost savings across returns and packaging operations. You will develop reverse logistics processes, analyze data to identify trends, and implement solutions to reduce item damage and optimize packaging. This role involves close collaboration with fulfillment centers, suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations and issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reverse logistics processes to manage returned and damaged products efficiently.
• Build and maintain reporting on returns and item damages; identify trends and make data-driven recommendations to improve processes and profitability.
• Identify high-damage items and implement targeted strategies to reduce damage rates.
• Manage the liquidation of returned products to maximize recovery value.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies related to reverse logistics.
• Analyze current box and packaging configurations to identify areas for improvement and implement creative solutions.
• Lead design initiatives to minimize item damage and maximize operational efficiency in packaging.
• Identify and execute opportunities to reduce packaging size and avoid parcel accessorial charges.
• Develop and track metrics to measure the effectiveness of packaging improvements and reverse logistics processes.
• Work closely with fulfillment center teams to maintain open communication and resolve operational issues quickly.
• Develop and enforce processes to ensure international vendors adhere to the Vendor Standards Manual.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, carriers, and internal/external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities across reverse logistics and packaging operations.
• Conduct ongoing data analysis to surface trends, measure process effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead cross-functional projects related to network changes, new processes, or systems improvements; maintain timelines and action registers.

Requirements

• A problem-solver’s instinct with a focus on root causes and creative fixes for damaged items or inefficient packaging.
• Data-driven thinking; comfortable building reports, analyzing trends in returns and damages, and translating data into actionable recommendations.
• A hands-on approach to packaging design, fulfillment center processes, and vendor compliance.
• Strong relationship skills to collaborate effectively with vendors, fulfillment teams, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
• A cost-conscious mindset focused on reducing accessorial charges, improving recovery on returns, and driving efficiencies.
• Adaptability and curiosity, with an eagerness to apply new tools and trends (e.g., AI) to long-standing challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field desired.
• 4–6 years of experience in supply chain.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience in packaging optimization required.
• Knowledge of SQL desired; ability to write and run queries for reporting and analysis.
• Knowledge of Cognos or similar BI/reporting tools desired.
• Experience using AI tools to improve workflows and productivity is a plus.

Physical and Travel Requirements

• Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
• Occasional travel based on business needs.

Pay

$71,000 - $85,000 per year.
