Responsibilities

  • Manage and analyze company transportation spend to ensure cost efficiency and budget alignment.
  • Support cost studies and provide analysis to guide strategic sourcing and operational decisions.
  • Coordinate among suppliers and plants to address supply chain disruptions such as supplier shortages, shipping delays, or acts of god by securing alternate sourcing, expediting shipments, and managing capacity issues.
  • Inform cross-functional teams and provide recommendations regarding supplier relief requests.
  • Manage large-value and international freight claims, coordinating with providers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
  • Oversee cargo insurance processes and ensure shipments are properly protected based on value and risk exposure.
  • Maintain strong relationships with carriers and third-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure service performance and issue resolution.
  • Escalate operational or 3PL provider service issues and work collaboratively to implement corrective actions.
  • Support carrier selection and contract management initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in transportation contracts, or Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L).
  • Experience with ERP systems; preferred SAP & Plex.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with carriers, 3PL providers, and freight claims.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
