Responsibilities
- Develop a strategy and arrangements for independent observations/oversight activities as required, to ensure that the subcontractor meets specified quality requirements.
- Schedule, perform and record direct observations and oversight of activities affecting quality to assure subcontractors’ effective implementation of approved quality plans and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations based on analytics.
- Develop and maintain a required level of independence necessary to perform adequate oversight activities of the Subcontractor’s quality control and quality assurance processes.
- Generate and issue daily oversight reports, weekly progress reports, and monthly metrics related to the subcontractor’s compliance performance.
- Facilitate and support interfaces with internal and external customers on subcontractor quality matters.
- Review subcontractor’s submittal documentation/records for compliance with contract requirements.
- Perform in-process document/record reviews to support an expedited turnover of records upon completion of work.
- Audit subcontractor-delivered quality documentation and records for completeness and compliance with project requirements.
- Perform subcontractor quality system assessments and performance evaluations.
- Review oversight observations/findings, and non-conformities and when appropriate contribute input for Title III support regarding non-conformance and troubleshooting.
- Identify and evaluate subcontractor trends in process conformity and evaluate whether corrective actions are appropriate while analyzing (trend tracking) subcontractor data.
- Actively support the safety culture and ensures integration of quality in relevant processes by complying with the requirements of the Project Quality Assurance Plan.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, quality management, or a related discipline. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a nuclear or defense industry setting, is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, quality management software, and strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential. Experience with NQA-1 quality assurance programs and familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., ASME, ANSI, etc.) is preferred.
