Supplier Quality Engineer II

About the role

As a Supplier Quality Engineer II at Honeywell, you will manage and improve the quality of products and materials supplied by external vendors to ensure they meet Honeywell’s rigorous aerospace standards. You will work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues, conduct audits, and implement corrective actions to support production and engineering teams. This role impacts the overall supply chain quality and reliability of aerospace components, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and Honeywell’s quality expectations, contributing to the safety and performance of aerospace systems.

You will report directly to the Defense Quality Manager and work on-site at our Clearwater, FL location.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier quality performance through audits, assessments, and corrective action plans to ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support new product introduction by qualifying suppliers and ensuring quality requirements are met throughout the supply chain.
• Help build a strong, diverse team by recruiting talent, identifying and developing successors, driving retention and engagement, and fostering an inclusive culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in supplier quality engineering or related quality roles within aerospace or manufacturing industries.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, supplier audits, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
• Proficiency with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, and APQP, and experience using supplier quality software and ERP systems.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 and industry regulatory requirements.
• Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status) due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering preferred).
• Experience working with global suppliers and managing complex supply chains.
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and influence supplier performance.
