About the role

The Supplier Quality Engineer II position is located at Medtronic's Grand Rapids, MI manufacturing site. This role involves managing suppliers, overseeing product quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services.
  • Timely investigations into supplier quality issues.
  • Lead MRB, NCMR, Supplier CAPAs, and inspections.
  • Manage Supplier/Part Setup and multiple applications.
  • Collaborate with Component Engineers for Product Acceptance Sampling Strategy, ASL coordination, Supplier Owned Quality deployment, and Control Plans.
  • Define Receiving Inspection requirements and associated test method validation.
  • Support supplier change notices and assess impacts.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and actively seek industry direction.
  • Apply statistical concepts to monitor suppliers and correct quality issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen tools.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or technical field with 2+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality OR Advanced Degree with 0+ years of work experience.
  • Nice to Have: Proven supplier quality engineering experience, ASQ Lead Auditor certification, excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or technical field with 2+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality OR Advanced Degree with 0+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality.
  • Proven supplier quality engineering experience within the medical device industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of Quality System Regulation (21 CFR Part 820), ISO 13485, statistical quality control methods, and Six Sigma principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional, collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

$80,000.00 - $120,000.00 USD

Schedule

Minimum of 5 days a week onsite.
