Job Duties

  • Manage supplier onboarding process using onsite audit tools and other applicable QMS tools.
  • Participate in design reviews with Advanced Quality Engineers, Advanced Manufacturing Engineers, and Sourcing Specialist to understand functional requirements of the purchased component and uses that data to ensure supplier is capable of meeting requirements.
  • Utilize six sigma tools and resources to proactively establish capability and reduce process variation applicable to the procured component.
  • Lead qualification of material, components, and processes to ensure supplier’s capability to meet engineering prints for conformity is validated.
  • Generate a robust PFMEA and a Quality Plan to prevent or eliminate the potential of non-conforming product being produced by the supplier.
  • Effectively manage and utilize Tier’d qualification process.
  • Communicate quality issues to the supplier and Crown’s internal cross functional teams.
  • Work directly with the supplier on defect and non-conformance resolution through a formal supplier corrective action response.
  • Coordinate Supplier sorting and onsite visits with Sourcing Specialist and Manufacturing teams.
  • Manage containment, supplier teardowns, sort activities, and product returns.
  • Manage supplier non-conformance and warranty performance.
  • Present supplier performance data for management and cross-functional team review.
  • Proactively identify emerging or potential supplier risk and provide a successful risk mitigation plan within the New Product development cycle.
  • Utilize project management tools to regularly communicate status and updates to the cross-functional and management team in order to achieve proper awareness of supplier quality within the New Product development cycle.
  • Develop and implement robust risk mitigation and permanent correction action plans to support zero defect launch.
  • Use statistical data tools when applicable to assist with problem solving and prevent reoccurrences of issues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree with at least five years of experience or related technical field experience.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to lead/facilitate cross-functional teams, and exercise good judgment repeatedly and consistently.
  • Good organizational skills, project management skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks, including follow-up and task completion.
  • ASQ or equivalent Certified Quality Engineer and/or Supplier Quality Professional certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills are required.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering prints and drawings.
  • Knowledge of quality inspection tools and techniques are strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%.
