Supplier Quality Engineer A220
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer A220 to join the Procurement team in Mobile, AL. You will guarantee the conformity of products/services to customer requirements and support on-time, on-cost quality delivery to increase customer loyalty.
About the Role
You will serve as a critical bridge between Airbus production lines and the global supply base, focusing on multi-site collaboration between Canada and the USA. As the direct point of contact for production, you will resolve external quality issues with technical precision and strategic corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary quality liaison facilitating seamless communication between sites in the USA and Canada.
- Conduct in-depth technical assessments of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and design specifications to identify failure origins.
- Serve as the primary point of contact in direct negotiations with suppliers to adjudicate liability and define corrective action ownership.
- Lead investigations with suppliers to define and implement robust corrective actions.
- Resolve real-time quality roadblocks as the direct point of contact between the production floor and suppliers.
- Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) validation process for supplier VRNCs, ensuring technical compliance and robust dispositioning.
- Manage and validate First Article Inspections (FAI) with suppliers to ensure components meet aerospace standards.
- Investigate and identify future quality risks, synthesizing complex data for presentation to management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial).
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in supplier quality or manufacturing engineering.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings (DWG) and deep understanding of aerospace standards (AS9100, TCCA, FAA, EASA).
- Advanced experience in problem-solving methodologies and high synthesis documentation.
- Bilingual proficiency; autonomy and leadership skills to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Flexibility for worldwide business travel (~10%) and coordination across time zones.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills in English.

Working Environment
Based at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, AL, part of the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley. The facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. It strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry and supports Airbus’ global competitiveness.
