Supplier Quality Engineer - 2nd Shift

About the role

The Engineer supports quality issues in the Production Support Department by analyzing problems through blueprint reading, part measurement, and CAD tools. They lead support management with suppliers, ensure part compliance, and support activities that reduce downtime and costs. The role involves developing technical skills, supporting new model activities, and contributing to quality improvements, safety, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supplier parts meet drawings and specifications, evaluating FMEA, PQCT, and MQS standards.
• Approve design and process changes collaboratively with departments.
• Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop countermeasures.
• Support report accuracy and analyze data to prioritize impactful issues.
• Coordinate with sorting contractors and suppliers to meet quality targets.
• Develop and confirm sort operation standards, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
• Maintain communication with suppliers and other departments on corrective actions.
• Build technical knowledge and foster innovation within the team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant experience.

Skills

• Proficiency in Measurement Systems, CAD tools, and Quality Assurance.
• Effective communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to prioritize, work in teams, and present to diverse audiences.

Working Conditions

On-site in a plant environment with walking sorting and limited travel, with an average of 3-5 hours of overtime weekly.
