Supplier Performance Specialist
About the role
The Supplier Performance Specialist role provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. This position offers the chance to collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world, making an impact by providing supplier performance leadership, managing goals and objectives, and interacting with suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Provide supplier performance leadership for 3M BG and associated manufacturing/distribution sites assigned.
- Manage supplier performance goals and objectives to ensure alignment with Enterprise Supply Chain strategies.
- Engage directly with 3M operations to ensure supply continuity and address systemic supply concerns.
- Interact with external suppliers for issue resolution, improvement activities, and supplier relationship improvement.
- Involvement in Supplier Performance Measurement and Review process for assigned manufacturing/distribution sites.
- Develop and lead supplier performance improvement strategies for assigned divisions, plants, and suppliers.
- Support the development and implementation of a standardized Supplier Risk Management process for plants/distribution centers.
- Support the development and implementation of a standardized supplier performance management and measurement processes for plants/distribution centers.
- Develop strong partnerships with suppliers and internal 3M stakeholders including manufacturing, supply chain operations, quality.
- Integrate Strategic Sourcing and Packaging Solutions key inputs and strategies into Supplier Performance strategies and activities at 3M operational level.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Six (6) years of combined Supply Chain or Manufacturing Experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Additional qualifications include experience in Raw Material/Outsource Manufacturing/Indirect Procurement Category Management within Manufacturing based companies, strong data analysis, negotiating, and problem-solving skills, initiative, self-starter with a positive & pro-active approach, experience successfully collaborating with internal/external stakeholders on complex projects, process improvement & project management experience, excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.

Pay & Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is $124,127 - $151,710, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. Location & Travel
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN. Travel may include up to 10% travel.
