Supplier Engineer

About the role

The supplier engineer will conduct preliminary purchased part risk assessments and lead-time and cost estimates, as well as identify and qualify outside manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead purchased part risk assessments and lead-time and cost estimates
• Identify and qualify outside manufacturing partners
• Review customer specifications and drawings to communicate needs with suppliers
• Secure non-disclosure agreements
• Negotiate costs, lead-times, and terms and conditions
• Perform supplier audits as needed
• Assist with validation and final approval
• Identify root causes of component-related issues
• Review and approve supplier corrective actions/preventative actions (CAPA)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Working knowledge of plastic and metal fabrication, as well as electronic components
• Knowledge of various software platforms, including word processing, spreadsheet, inventory, Internet browser, and project management

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge various software platforms, including word processing, spreadsheet, inventory, Internet browser and project management.

Skills

• Software proficiency (word processing, spreadsheet, inventory, Internet browser, project management)
• Knowledge of plastic and metal fabrication, electronic components
