Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with division supplier development manager and participate within an HPT to resolve chronic shortages within supply base.
- Engage with supply base and HPT to develop part families driving manufacturing efficiency.
- Support team efforts to develop strategic deflation strategies and assist with execution of strategy.
- Represent the division and collaborate with peers at other divisions and groups.
- Proactively work with Supply Chain Team to seek out continuous improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills through engaging suppliers and peers to achieve common goals.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 25-50% of time.
- Collaborates to establish preferred supplier selection criteria based on evaluations of supplier price, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance with governmental procurement regulations.
- Works with suppliers to develop and manage continuous improvement programs, addressing quality, delivery, service as well as price.
- Develop relationships with new and existing suppliers to foster partnership.
Qualifications
- B.A./B.S. degree in a related technical or business discipline
- 10 or more years of manufacturing experience and on the job training
- Experience with tooling selection, quality inspection, castings, forgings and special processing
- 10 plus years of Aerospace Machining, Casting and Special Processing experience desired
- Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives
- Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities
- Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals
- Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change
- Thorough understanding of production technology, and/or specialty support areas including broad knowledge of manufacturing technology trends
