Supervisory Pharmacist (Clinical)

About the role

This position is located in the Pharmacy Department at the Fort Yates Hospital of the Standing Rock Service Unit, Fort Yates, North Dakota. The employee serves as a Supervisory Pharmacist providing quality pharmaceutical services to eligible patients in accordance with Federal and State law, Indian Health Service regulations, and accepted ethical standards. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Responsibilities

• Directs inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations
• Planning and assigning work, developing and evaluating performance, approving leave, managing schedules, conducting hiring, and recommending/giving advice on both work and administrative matters
• Knowledge of and skills in applying the concepts, principles, and practices of the science of clinical pharmacology, drug distribution systems, and regulatory compliance
• Selecting, compounding, dispensing, and preserving drugs and providing authoritative advice on complex problems such as drug interactions
• Researching medical literature and/or clinical medication information to provide accurate responses to inquiries; serving as medication subject matter expert with physicians, nurses, and other staff on drug‑related problems; monitoring adverse drug reactions; reviewing and evaluating drug literature
