SUPERVISORY NUCLEAR PRODUCTION MANAGER

About the role

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY NUCLEAR PRODUCTION MANAGER in the Nuclear Production Manager Division (Code 300N), Production Resource Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. You will oversee the technical, administrative, and managerial aspects associated with the nuclear programs and effects the performance of these have on the overall Shipyard production capability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Monitor nuclear production operations to identify areas for improvement.
• Be responsible for the direction, integrations and coordination of the Department's nuclear work program.
• Provide direction and control to all management positions/levels within the Operations and Resource Departments.
• Establish funding requirements for project completion and negotiate for funds to cover project enlargements.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• Must be registered for Selective Service if male and born after 12-31-59.
• Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience overseeing nuclear ship and component repairs across all production phases, managing inter-departmental coordination, radiological safety, nuclear training, and quality control.
• Experience with planning and leading programs, managing personnel and organizational resources to achieve key project milestones.
• Experience with operational knowledge of shipyard organization, standard policies, daily procedures, and safety practices.
• Experience with managing heavy industrial ship repair logistics by applying industrial management principles to solve complex operational and supply chain challenges.
