SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER

About the role

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER in the AIR VEHICLE ENGINEERING DEPT, MATERIALS ENGINEERING DIV of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Responsibilities

• Plan work and prepare performance plans covering work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
• Evaluate work performance of subordinates and recommend official performance ratings.
• Give advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
• Make appropriate distinctions in levels of performance while equitably applying performance standards.
• Identify developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13/14 grade level or pay band NM-04 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Demonstrating senior level knowledge of materials engineering, chemistry, metallic, ceramic, polymer and composite materials, corrosion/wear, material protection, non-destructive inspection, and advanced materials processes.
• Experience with technical authority in materials engineering airworthiness criteria and design standards for Navy/Marine Corps aviation assets.
• Operating specialized laboratories, testing facilities, or industrial environments, ensuring compliance with occupational safety, environmental regulations, and quality assurance standards.
• Leading teams, managing personnel and financial resources, and partnering across organizations to provide technology and acquisition solutions.
