Senior Civilian position within the INSCOM Assistant Chief of Staff/G3-Operations Directorate.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Senior Civilian in the INSCOM Assistant Chief of Staff/G3-Operations Directorate.
  • Provide technical and administrative supervision to subordinates in execution of operational, personnel, and position management responsibilities.
  • Develop close liaisons with counterparts in government agencies.
  • Provide management and oversight of operations.
  • Represent INSCOM in interservice/interagency working groups, meetings, and committees and interact with high-level officials within other agencies.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • This position is designated Tier 5, Special Sensitive, High Risk and requires a Top Secret Security Clearance Level with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access as a condition of employment.
  • This position is considered Non-Combat Essential (NCE) in support of the Army’s mobilization and wartime mission and may require extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations.
  • Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.

To qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work. Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, private sector experience, or experience in another government agency at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:

  • Serving as a senior-level supervisor in an operations directorate.
  • Planning, developing, and executing intelligence programs, projects, and preparation in support of intelligence operations.
  • Serving as the lead project officer/coordinator on intelligence studies and projects.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS/GG-14). No substitution of education for experience is permitted for this job.

Progressively responsible experience should include intelligence-related research, analysis, collections, and/or operations, such as:

  • Intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position.
  • Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle, and organizations.
  • Ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics, and maps.
  • Knowledge of the systems, procedures, and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting, and disseminating intelligence data.
  • Knowledge of organizations and methods for collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

Additional Information

  • This position requires a 2-year trial period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
  • As a supervisor, compliance with the Army Civilian Education System (CES) course and timeline requirements is mandatory, including completing the Supervisory Development Course (SDC) within one year of placement into a supervisory position.
  • Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from the Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
