About the role

Serve as Deputy and Senior Civilian Advisor to the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-3. Exercise operational oversight of the Command and in the determination of policy, mission, and operational requirements. Evaluate the technical effectiveness of all G-3 operations. Plan work to be accomplished, interpret policy and procedures and establish priorities. Conduct major staff studies and review of operational plans and policies. Supervise preparation of final documents for the G-3 and Command Group approval.

Requirements

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.

  • Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance Level with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access as a condition of employment
  • Must be willing to undergo extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management
  • Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship

  • Current Army Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) Employee
  • Current Department of Army Civilian Employees
  • Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs and other organizations.

Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.

  • One year of specialized experience which includes: Experience directing and synchronizing daily operations across a matrixed military and civilian intelligence staff; executing supervisory personnel management over subordinate divisions; directing resource, budget, or manpower allocations for full-spectrum intelligence programs; AND representing a major command or organization at executive-level interagency boards or conferences

Skills

  • Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations
  • Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps
  • Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data
  • Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data
