Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Staff Director)
About the Role
This position is located in the Office of Operations, Office of Talent Solutions, Scientific Programs & Executive Resources Staff (SPERS), which provides high quality and efficient Human Resources solutions that enable the FDA to hire a talented and qualified workforce.
Responsibilities
- Lead and direct executive resources programs and services to include Senior Executive Service (SES), Senior Level (SL), Scientific or Professional (ST) positions and other executive hiring authorities.
- Advise senior leadership on the interpretation and application of Federal statutes, regulations, and policies governing executive resources programs.
- Oversee recruitment/staffing, classification, and pay compensation for executive-level positions.
- Supervise staff responsible for the administration of executive resources programs.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for the Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Staff Director) position which falls under the 0201 occupational Series, you must meet the following requirements by 11:59 pm EST on 07/24/2026:
- Nine (9) years comparable experience leading and directing executive resources programs and services to include Senior Executive Service (SES), Senior Level (SL), Scientific or Professional (ST) positions and other executive hiring authorities.
- Nine (9) years comparable experience advising senior leadership on the interpretation and application of Federal statutes, regulations, and policies governing executive resources programs.
- Nine (9) years comparable experience overseeing recruitment/staffing, classification, and pay compensation for executive-level positions.
- Nine (9) years comparable experience supervising staff responsible for the administration of executive resources programs.
Pay
This position is being recruited based on the Title 21 Pay Table 7, Band E (GS-15 equivalent).
Schedule
This position is being filled under a streamlined hiring authority, Title 21 of the United States Code (21 US Code 379d-3a) as amended by the 21st Century Cures Act of 2016, section 3072 and the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, Section 3624. The candidate selected for this position will serve under a career or career-conditional appointment.
