About the role
The Explosives Enforcement Training Division manages and advances the agency's explosives programs to maintain the highest caliber of explosives criminal investigators and specialists. It supports the Explosives Enforcement and Training Branch (EETB), Advanced Explosives Training Branch (AETB), and the Explosives Research and Development Branch (ERDB).
Responsibilities
- Serves as the Chief, responsible for law enforcement programs, functions, or operations.
- Exercises full supervisory responsibilities and authority over Division personnel.
- Assesses, develops, and evaluates program goals, needs, operations, and accomplishments.
- Plans, directs, coordinates, and oversees studies and surveys to evaluate Division programs and ensure efficiency and economy of operations.
- Directs the coordination of projects and programs with management officials in other divisions within the Directorate, with officials at Bureau Headquarters, and with officials from the Department of Justice or other Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Must have selective service registration if born on or after December 31, 1959.
- May be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- Pass drug screening and subject to random drug tests.
- Must be suitable for Federal employment and have a suitable background investigation.
- Must meet all applicable time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
- Must meet financial disclosure requirements.
- Must meet mobility agreement requirements.
Qualifications
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) by the closing date of this announcement.
- Specialized experience includes:
- Assess, develop, and evaluate program goals, needs, operations, and accomplishments;
- Initiating, planning, and directing studies, surveys, operational reviews, or other projects to ensure efficiency and economy of operations;
- Advising and providing technical information on significant issues or matters pertaining to programs, program initiatives, and projects;
- Applying ATF law enforcement investigative techniques in order to direct a major field component of the Bureau.
