About the role

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Full-Time Supervisory Acquisition Program Management Specialist (GG-1101-14) to support the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) on Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. Relocation incentive may be available.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a 2nd-level supervisory acquisition program management specialist supporting the activities of DoD funded acquisition efforts for the Air Delivered Capabilities Directorate.
  • Support the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DOD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process.
  • Plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff in critical aspects of development and production, support of systems, subsystems, or equipment and coordinate various aspects of systems acquisition such as engineering, contracting, financial management, configuration, test, and manufacturing.
  • Lead, mentor, motivate, appraise, supervise and work with subordinate supervisors, diverse teams, and non-supervisory employees.
  • Problem solve and communicate to a broad audience of varying levels of comprehension, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
  • Manage the acquisition and management of USAF nuclear weapons and special programs.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and retain Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
  • Eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP).
  • A favorable suitability determination is required before appointment.
  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program.
  • Employees must pass initial and periodic short-notice drug testing.

  • Must meet, or be capable of achieving the APDP certification as designated on the position description within the defined grace period for that certification level after assignment.
  • This position also requires employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 Continuous Learning Points every 24 months.
