About the role
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking civilian professionals to deploy war-winning capabilities on behalf of the United States Air Force. The AFNWC is requiring a 2-page resume format for job announcements, ensuring the most relevant experience, education, and professional development is reviewed.
Responsibilities
- Guide acquisition planning and execution
- Perform all supervisory duties for assigned personnel
- Mentor, motivate, and appraise staff
- Monitor technology cost, schedule, performance, and risk
- Advise senior leaders on technology maturation, development, acquisition, test, and operational issues
- Lead and execute acquisition activities such as conducting market research, developing requirements for Requests for Proposals (RFPs), tracking and mitigating risks, and developing budget estimates
- Establish priorities and manage day-to-day activities for government, military, and contractor personnel
- Develop and present technical and programmatic briefings to senior military and civilian leaders, government partners, and/or members of Congress
- Independently make decisions aligned with the program director's strategic intent, prioritize needs across the directorate, and develop talent within the nuclear enterprise
Requirements
- Expertise in executing a defense acquisition program
- Strong leadership skills and experience with organizational personnel management
- Refined communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interface effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant SPO or Defense acquisition program management experience
- Experience working in a classified or special access program (SAP) environment
- Experience in a supervisory role
- A master’s degree in a relevant field
- U.S. Citizenship, TS/SCI eligibility, and active TS/SCI or TS clearance preferred

Pay
The typical 2026 salary range for this position is $125,776– $192,331.
