The Workers' Compensation Claims Department has an immediate opening for a Claims Supervisor to lead and develop a team of adjusters while supporting quality claim handling, regulatory compliance, customer service, and operational excellence. This full-time, exempt position follows a hybrid work schedule and is based at WCF Insurance's Sandy Headquarters. The role reports to a Regional Claims Manager and offers the opportunity to influence team performance, strengthen claim practices, and contribute to a collaborative, service-focused claims organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or professional claims designation preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of claims adjusting experience; supervisory, leadership, or team lead experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of workers' compensation claims, regulations, case law, and claims management practices.
  • Experience handling complex, catastrophic, or litigated claims.
  • Strong communication, organization, decision-making, coaching, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced claims environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of workers' compensation claims adjusters.
  • Assign and balance workloads to support timely, high-quality claim handling, and customer service.
  • Conduct claim audits, supervisory reviews, and quality assurance activities within company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor productivity, customer service, claim activity, and performance metrics using available reporting tools.
  • Review and approve settlements, liability decisions, reserve changes, and other significant claim actions within authority.
  • Provide technical guidance on escalated claim issues and support onboarding, training, and employee development.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, consistency, and operational efficiency.

  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, industry trends, and claims best practices.

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is $89,100.00–$111,300.00. This salary range depends on experience, education, and location for this specific position.

Working Conditions

This position is based in an office environment with adequate temperature and lighting control. There are no known hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, or other environmental factors. There are potentially high-stress situations that require meeting deadlines. The employee must meet the job attendance requirements for this position.
