About the Role

Responsible for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping and receiving finished goods while maintaining inventory accuracy and associated records. This role includes people management responsibilities such as hiring, training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist in daily warehouse and shipping operations, including filling and shipping customer orders, satisfying internal shipping requirements, ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation.
• Receive goods/items from production, package assemblies, and log them into finished goods inventory.
• Ensure inventory transactions are accurately logged and oversee cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
• Measure and report the effectiveness of department activities.
• Develop and maintain departmental work instructions for all tasks.
• Establish or adjust work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by customer commitments, production schedules, and workflow.
• Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
• Recommend measures to improve quality of service, increase efficiency, and enhance equipment performance.
• Continuously improve warehouse operations through lean enterprise practices.
• Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and serve internal customers.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to make calculations such as freight estimates, dimensional weight, invoices, and percentages.
• Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of warehouse experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Experience with lean methodologies.
• Forklift certification.
• APICS/CPIM certification is a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing environment.
• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Requires walking, standing, bending, and lifting for long periods of time.
• Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on a computer.
