Supervisor-Technical Services
Primary Purpose
To supervise the technical support for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of crude oil, natural gas, and carbon dioxide pipeline system operations, pump stations, compressors, and all related equipment, and the supervision of multiple operating personnel. Directly responsible for employee performance, training, and development. Also responsible for contributing to the safety and environmental programs, regulatory, and O&M compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manage the technical support, including technical support staff, within a geographic region.
- Directly responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment, instrumentation, pumps, vessels, pipelines, compressors, auxiliary equipment, engines, turbines, motors, cooling equipment, valves, seals, and other related equipment.
- Schedule and ensure the repair, modification, and maintenance of appropriate equipment, systems, and assets.
- Maintain and refine programs, procedures, and equipment to ensure a safe environment for employees, customers, and the public.
- Review and recommend technological advancements for field operations.
- Ensure compliance with PHMSA and regulatory requirements, and assist during inspections or audits.
- Support the implementation of remote equipment analysis tools and processes.
- Implement company procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Lead safety program initiatives, including identifying, reporting, and addressing safety and environmental concerns.
- Maintain environmental and governmental compliance related to equipment within the supervisor’s region.
- Train and develop direct reports.
- Ensure compliance with the Operator Qualification (OQ) Program for both contract and company employees.
- Plan and direct activities at multiple locations within the area of responsibility.
- Forecast and manage Capital and O&M budgets for the area of responsibility.
- Develop and oversee O&M procedures, site-specific procedures, project scopes, and work plans.
- Oversight of construction and/or maintenance activities performed by internal personnel or third parties.
- Assist with the preparation and monitoring of AFE projects.
- Conduct performance evaluations of direct reports.
- Create short- and long-range plans, goals, and objectives for the equipment analyst team.
- Complete all applicable documentation and record keeping.
- Work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory requirements, and tariffs.
- Respond to emergency situations at any hour of the day or night.
- Foster a positive work environment, systems approach, and disciplined execution of tasks.
- Manage personnel-related matters, including providing performance-based feedback, support, and completing administrative paperwork as needed.
- Show and enforce the highest professional integrity, ethics, and safety discipline.
- Show and reinforce a culture of regulatory compliance.
- Communicate effectively with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
- Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.

- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of employees, company assets, and the general public.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline. Five (5) years of direct work experience with technical support for crude oil/gas pipeline system operations, including prior supervisory responsibility may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
- Experience/Specific Knowledge: Two (2) years working experience with technical support of mechanical and pipeline systems. Five (5) years with direct people management. Knowledge and experience in operation of pipeline, measurement, pump stations, compression, and related equipment. Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of crude oil, flammable gases, liquids, and high and low pressure systems. Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications.
- Certifications, Licenses & Registrations: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

Compensation
Compensation ranges are provided in good faith based on what we anticipate when researching wages for this position at the state and national levels. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
