Supervisor-Supply Chain - Materials Management - 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Job Summary

Supervises subordinate staff and areas involved in the receipt verification, storage, and control of medical, surgical, and other supplies and equipment used in the care and treatment of patients or in related medical center operations.

Education & Experience

• Required: Degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) and three (3) years of shipping/receiving, stocking, loading and logistics experience.
• Certifications, Licenses, Or Registration Required: None

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the work activities of subordinate staff.
• Receives, verifies receipt, stores, and distributes equipment and supplies.
• Affords assistance in providing training and coaching of subordinate staff.
• Maintains inventory and monitors and audits inventory.
• Assists in determining stock requirements and prepares or supervises the preparation of supply orders.
• Interfaces with accounting staff to resolve invoice issues.
• Maintains applicable files, records, and databases.
• Maintains area of responsibility in compliance with the requirements of the joint commission and other regulatory agencies.
• Promotes continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices.

Physical and Environmental Demands

• Frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold.
• Occasional handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment.
• Occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, occasional handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations.
• Occasional work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality.
• Frequent crouching/stooping, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, occasional reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, frequent twisting, and frequent walking.
