About the role
The Supervisor, Remote Patient Attendant provides leadership and supervision to all Remote Patient Attendants. They promote a level of professionalism, lead by example, and encourage a caring, helpful, and responsive attitude toward patient observation and monitoring of assigned high-risk patients. They coordinate and supervise remote video monitoring functions and support the department as required.
Responsibilities
- Oversees daily department operations to achieve quality results, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals/objectives.
- Supervises, orients, trains, evaluates, and monitors on-the-job performance.
- Audits and maintains department metrics for unit and organizational goals.
- Promotes quality improvement and systems-thinking by openly supporting and consistently communicating the mission of the department and organization.
- Collaborates with management team on the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures designed to improve quality of care and operational efficiency.
- Promotes culture of safety and responsiveness.
- Ensures compliance with policies and standard work for the department to ensure metrics are met and processes are appropriately followed.
- Scaffolds, trains, and supervises staff - including participation in annual performance evaluations.
- Maintains equipment utilization and oversees proper working order of equipment.
- Ensures adequate supplies.
- Interacts and effectively communicates with nursing staff and makes visits to units as needed.
- Assumes responsibility for staffing and scheduling with appropriate utilization of personnel.
- Onboards and/or orients new staff to the role, ensuring role responsibilities, training, and competencies.
- Conducts rounds on each staff member throughout the shift to discuss potential/actual issues.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license.
- Certification and Licensing: Valid State of Florida LPN license required.
- Experience: Minimum 7 Years Of Relevant Experience Required.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Performance Management, Training & Development, Team Leadership, Technical Proficiency, Communication.
