About the role
As a Supervisor of Regional Operations, you will manage technicians in specific service areas, deliver quality residential and business communications services on a profitable basis, and uphold company policies, procedures, and directives. You will build and lead an aggressive, knowledgeable, customer-focused team that promotes Forged Fiber’s products and services while exceeding customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of outside and inside plant network services, including installation and maintenance of residential, business, and central office services, as well as design and splicing activities.
- Serve as the single point of contact between Forged Fiber and contractors to resolve issues during construction and maintenance.
- Emphasize training, coaching, and development of employees regarding new processes, quality standards, customer contact, safety, expense control, and technical skills.
- Lead a team of technicians to meet attendance and performance standards.
- Represent Forged Fiber with customers and governmental agencies.
- Collaborate with the union to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Celebrate successes, appropriately use rewards and recognition, and motivate the team for continuous improvement and maximum performance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience managing teams within a telecom technical environment.
- Strong skills and experience in employee development, including training, coaching, and mentoring in a union environment.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Excel, email, Word, and legacy systems.
- Working knowledge of installation and maintenance of residential and business services, local network processes, and fundamental understanding of Forged Fiber’s services and products.
- Working knowledge of splicing and construction processes in the telecommunications industry.
- Working knowledge of contractor relations.
- Ability to work in a consultative manner: establish rapport, interview, fact-find, present options, recommend solutions, follow up, and maintain customer-focused behavior.
- Previous experience in a multi-tasking, result-oriented position in a deadline-focused department.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience; 5+ years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience managing teams within a telecom technical environment.
- 2+ years of experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of POTS and HSI.
- 2+ years of experience with Excel, email, and legacy systems.
Schedule
- Duty management work scheduled on a rotation basis.
- Pager duty required.
- Varying tours and hours, including possible mandatory overtime and holidays.
- Work with minimal supervision; ability to prioritize multiple projects and perform under pressure.
- Negotiate timeframes for completion and meet critical deadlines.
- Willing and able to work with other coworkers to complete job assignments.
Pay
Location-based pay range: $83,000–$130,000
