Supervisor, Quality Inspector (Night Shift)
About the role
The Quality Supervisor manages and leads a team of Quality Leads and Quality Inspectors to ensure all materials are correctly processed according to Tesla standards. They assist their team in determining the disposition of production parts and promote a culture of quality.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Quality Leads and Quality Inspectors, including creating schedules, monitoring breaks, and providing coaching.
- Guide inspection and rework teams in proper part disposition, ensuring they understand the difference between good, repair needed, and scrap.
- Prepare and lead daily Quality meetings with Quality Inspection Management.
- Document and communicate any identified defects, escalating unresolved issues to Quality Inspection Management.
- Ensure ongoing production meets established quality standards and communicate emerging quality issues to prevent negative impacts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with production and engineering teams, collaborating across departments to address quality concerns.
- Execute all responsibilities while maintaining a safe, quality-focused, positive work environment and ensuring cost savings.
Requirements
Must possess the ability to visually detect defects, identify and differentiate between various defect types, determine defect severity, and implement corrective actions. Must also have the capability to document and report quality issues, build relationships with multiple teams, and apply critical thinking to resolve new quality challenges.
Qualifications
Experience in a supervisory role, familiarity with quality control processes, and strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. A background in manufacturing or related field is preferred.
Skills
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are required. Proficiency in visual inspection techniques and the ability to manage a team effectively are crucial.

Expected Compensation: $96,000 - $168,000 annually, with a mix of cash and stock awards and benefits.
