About the role
As a Quality Control Supervisor, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks and projects of varying size and complexity. This position will assist the Training Manager with local and large-scale projects as needed and may take the lead on assigned projects.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the training and quality of all employees within your assigned systems.
- Perform quality control inspections and document, correct, and coach any issues found.
- Deliver engaging, high-quality training to both in-person and virtual audiences.
- Mentor, coach, and support trainees to ensure consistent delivery, effective facilitation, and ongoing professional development.
- Design, develop, and deliver training materials using tools such as PowerPoint, Word, and other instructional technologies aligned to learning objectives.
- Evaluate trainee performance by auditing work, conducting Technical Proficiency Observations and Quality Observations, identifying skill gaps, and implementing targeted training solutions.
- Provide constructive feedback and apply training interventions to prepare employees for successful field performance.
- Coordinate training schedules and offerings with training leadership and local management.
- Serve as a technical training resource, providing field support during high-demand periods.
- Contribute to damage investigations by identifying training-related root causes and recommending prevention strategies.
- Stay current on emerging training methodologies, technologies, and best practices.
- Travel up to 25% to support regional and company-wide Quality initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years fiber optic or cable installation experience.
- Perform mandatory job site inspections to ensure employee compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to work a very flexible schedule in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and last-minute changes.
- Exceptional customer service experience.
- Team-oriented mindset.
- Former supervisory experience a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a minimum of 2 years driving experience and a good driving record.
Physical Abilities & Exposures
- Routinely work at heights, in confined spaces, and alone in remote locations.
- Operate vehicle and heavy machinery.
- Perform tasks requiring squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, and climb stairs.
- Lift up to 55 pounds without assistance.
- Occasionally use a ladder, keyboard, and mouse.
