Responsibilities
- Schedules production to assure a minimum of problems and delays, material shortages or equipment delays
- Anticipates problems and delays for production schedules and corrects through problem solving and trouble shooting
- Sets up and operates machinery to ensure efficient production
- Controls labor and materials usage to meet or improve standard costs
- Accurately reports events regarding production schedules and employees by monitoring individual production reports and correlating them to group reports
- Arranges for proper maintenance of machines and equipment
- Continuously improves processes
- Understands principles of continuous improvement
- Has functional use of various methods of continuous improvement
- Applies tools of continuous improvement within area of responsibility
- Deals effectively with union-represented and non-represented personnel
- Communicates daily with subordinate employees
- Orients new employees to department, shift, etc.
- Familiarizes personnel with Company rules and regulations
- Instructs and trains employees and motivates them to be quality oriented, safety conscious, efficient and to strive for continuous improvement and ISO 9000
- Counsels and counsels’ employees as necessary
- Administers union agreement
