Lead the production team supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), coordinating electrical and mechanical completion, workflow, quality, safety, training, and efficiency. Partner with Production Manager, Engineering, Controls, and other stakeholders to ensure systems are fully tested, documented, and ready for customer FAT and shipment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee overall safety in production and FAT areas; enforce safe work practices.
  • Manage direct reports including hiring, training, performance evaluation, development, retention, and termination.
  • Serve as subject-matter expert for electrical design, mechanical assembly, controls integration, FAT, and shipping requirements.
  • Plan workflow and assignments for electrical assembly, mechanical completion, system power-up, troubleshooting, and FAT.
  • Develop production and FAT goals, distribute tasks, and monitor progress against project deadlines.
  • Ensure FAT readiness and execution, verifying electrical/mechanical components, guarding, labeling, safety devices, and documentation meet project requirements.
  • Maintain quality through standard work, updated instructions, process inspections, and required quality checks.
  • Lead problem-solving and corrective-action activities for defects, FAT issues, and project delays.
  • Establish team goals, provide coaching, complete performance evaluations, and recommend disciplinary action.
  • Promote continuous improvement and track daily performance indicators (safety, quality, cost, delivery, FAT completion).
  • Participate in project and manufacturing kickoff meetings; coordinate across Manufacturing, Engineering, Controls, and Project Management.
  • Support production, safety, and quality risk assessment and mitigation activities.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a high-production, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • High School diploma or GED; relevant electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, production, or leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong industrial electrical and mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment assembly, integration, or system testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, engineering prints, and assembly specifications.
  • Working knowledge of electrical components, mechanical assemblies, material handling equipment, safety devices, and system power-up/energization.
  • Understanding of FAT, quality documentation, and shipping requirements.
  • Results-driven with ability to identify problems and improvement opportunities using visual management and problem-solving tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to motivate, coach, and develop team members.
  • Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to handle tense situations.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to safely operate or supervise production equipment.
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long-term without sponsorship.
  • Must follow information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report security incidents.

Travel

Up to 5% travel (expenses paid by Bastian Automation).
