Supervisor Production

About the role

The Production Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the adherence to quality control standards within the production processes. This role collaborates with the Production Manager and Plant Superintendent to manage various aspects of the production line.

Responsibilities

• Maintains proper standard operating procedures among the crew.
• Ensures correct lime weights, steam times, and temperatures for cooks, and maintains proper blends.
• Periodically checks wash settings, belt and stone speeds, additive run outs, and suction fan operations across the plant.
• Maintains steep temperatures and water levels in the tub runner, and ensures consistent tub run outs.
• Monitors drier operators to ensure optimal stone and drier settings and maximum drier speeds for quality products.
• Verifies sifter and mill screen setups and ensures proper handling of sifter screens.
• Establishes appropriate startup speeds for milling and adjusts to match sieve analysis.
• Monitors production lab results to ensure standard goals are met.
• Spot weighs sacks to maintain standard weights.
• Inspects the warehouse to ensure neat stacking and consistent organization.
• Evaluates production employees' efficiency and productivity, and provides coaching or retraining as needed.
• Interviews, selects, and trains new employees.
• Ensures the safety of employees and property by enforcing safety policies and conducting required training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• At least 3 years of production experience in a manufacturing plant are required, with preference given to those in bakery or food/beverage manufacturing.
• A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience or 4 years as a Lead in production is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing supervisory roles with a proven track record in leading teams.
• Experience and exposure to regulatory inspections such as AIB, OSHA, MILITARY, Health Dept., EPA, City & County Inspectors.
• Knowledge of Quality Systems and Programs.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Ability to perform simple analysis.
• Capable of walking long distances and standing for extended periods.
• Adaptable to working in dusty, noisy, hot, cold, and confined spaces.
• Flexible to work irregular hours including holidays and weekends.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $XX - $YY per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule
