About the Role

Ideal Pase, the liquid-filling business unit of Massman Companies, is growing across our operations in Eagan, Minnesota and Madison, Wisconsin, and is seeking a leader for our production teams. The Production Supervisor oversees daily shop floor operations within the custom automated machinery fabrication and assembly departments. This role coordinates the transition of highly engineered, low-volume/high-mix builds from raw materials to fully integrated automation systems. This position is ideally suited for either an experienced, time-served manufacturing supervisor or a Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineer looking to step into their first formal leadership role.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Custom Build Execution: Coordinate daily workflows for custom, low-volume machinery, ensuring complex fabrication and precise mechanical/electrical assembly align with project timelines.
  • Operational ERP Tracking: Manage shop floor scheduling, material requests, labor hours, and production tracking directly within the NetSuite ERP system to maintain accurate project costing.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify workflow bottlenecks, eliminate waste, and optimize floor layouts for changing custom machine configurations.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate a team of technicians, precision assemblers, and AWS-certified welders, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Quality Assurance & Technical Oversight: Audit assemblies against complex blueprints, P&ID diagrams, and engineering schematics to ensure exact tolerances prior to internal testing.
  • Safety Compliance: Champion and enforce all company safety policies and OSHA standards to maintain a secure, organized, and accident-free manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Experience Profile:
    • Option A: 5+ years of proven, time-served supervisory experience within custom machinery, automation integration, or heavy equipment manufacturing environments.
    • Option B: 3+ years of experience as a Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineer within a machine-build environment, with a strong desire and aptitude to transition into people management.
  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on operational experience using NetSuite (or a comparable enterprise ERP system) for production tracking and inventory management. SOLIDWORKS and/or AutoCAD proficiency an advantage.
  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification strongly preferred. Active AWS certification or deep working knowledge of AWS structural welding codes is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced capability in reading complex engineering blueprints, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings. Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Processes: Direct design for, programming or operation of CNC machining equipment, Waterjet or Laser, MIG and TIG welding, Brake presses, drills, taps etc.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial), or a High school diploma with extensive trade experience.
