Learn more about Kemira at www.kemira.com/careers. We are looking for a production supervisor for our industry and water segment in St. Louis, MO who will lead our operations team. This position performs work safely in accordance with established procedures; manages a team of operators; assists with troubleshooting issues and ensures the proper operation of all equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead all production operators and shift personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations.
  • Drive a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, safety (EHS), Process Safety Management (PSM), and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage daily production activities to meet operational targets, production schedules, quality expectations, and customer requirements.
  • Oversee raw material usage, inventory accuracy, and finished goods management to ensure proper material availability and inventory control.
  • Monitor production processes, equipment performance, and operational KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
  • Utilize SAP and other systems to manage production reporting, inventory transactions, material movements, and operational metrics.
  • Lead operator training, coaching, performance management, and employee development initiatives to build a high-performing operations team.
  • Participate as a member of the site leadership team, contributing to plant strategy, workforce development, operational planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support plant shutdowns, startups, troubleshooting efforts, and incident investigations as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience considered.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in manufacturing or chemical plant operations.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, raw material handling, and production planning principles.
  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership capacity, communication, decision-making, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with MS office applications, including word, excel, PowerPoint, and outlook.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Pay

The starting salary range for consideration for this position is $75,000 to $105,000 per year with opportunities for performance-based bonuses. The actual starting salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant employment history & experience, skill set/competencies, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs.
