Supervisor Production - 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift Openings
Position Overview
Directs the daily operations of a production team operating on a 3-shift schedule. Responsible for leading teams in the various processes of the production of corrugated containers in a safe, cost-effective manner, and ensuring that product meets all customer and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensures that crew members work safely and follow all plant rules and policies.
- Hold employees accountable for meeting quality and operating standards; provide coaching to employees when necessary and discipline when necessary.
- Verify for accuracy and approve time and production in KIWI.
- Acts as a problem solver for production crews when needed.
- Acts as the conduit for communication between employees and management.
- Works with production planning department to prioritize jobs, workflow and crew assignments.
- Covers material movement required for daily work assignments.
- Maintains workflow and material levels within their assigned area and manages staffing needs each shift.
- Supports and conducts training of employees.
- Maintains housekeeping throughout the plant.
- Oversees sorting, restacking and rework.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years supervisory experience preferred
- Strong technical skills
- Ability to develop and influence personnel
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to solve process and production issues independently
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and computer knowledge
- Must be able to work specified shift time, with some weekend work
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
- Experience in the paper or corrugated manufacturing industry is a plus
