Role Overview
The Supervisor Patient Care oversees nursing operations and patient care across multiple units during night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage staffing, support nursing staff, and ensure adherence to care protocols and quality standards.
- Collaborate with hospital departments, including the Transfer Center, for patient placement and throughput.
- Respond to emergencies, activate the Hospital Emergency Incident Command, and serve as Incident Commander if needed.
- Monitor department budget and expenditures.
- Visit patient care units to assess conditions, evaluate staffing needs, and support caregivers.
- Communicate with senior nursing management about critical issues impacting patients, staff, or hospital operations.
- Assist in operational decision-making and notify appropriate leadership when necessary.
- Support hospital nursing philosophy through participation in educational initiatives and policy adherence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN required.
- Current RN licensure in the relevant state.
- BLS certification required; PALS, NRP, ACLS, or TNCC preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years nursing experience, with supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Clinical pediatrics experience is required.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
Schedule
Part-time role with onsite presence during night hours.
