Supervisor - Patient Care

About the role

The Supervisor Patient Care oversees nursing operations and patient care delivery during night shifts, managing staffing and coordinating across hospital departments.

Responsibilities

• Support nursing staff to ensure adherence to care protocols and quality standards.
• Monitor department budgets and assist in expenditure control.
• Assess patient conditions, evaluate staffing needs, and provide direct support to caregivers.
• Communicate with nursing management regarding critical situations affecting patients, staff, or hospital operations.
• Collaborate with hospital staff to maintain effective operational workflows in patient care units.
• Respond to emergencies, collaborate with the Transfer Center, and activate the Hospital Emergency Incident Command when needed, potentially serving as Incident Commander.
• Participate in educational initiatives and uphold hospital policies and philosophy.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a BSN; current RN license in Ohio.
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience, including clinical pediatrics.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification; additional certifications like PALS, NRP, ACLS, or TNCC are advantageous.
