About the role

The Hospital Billing department at Hawai‘i Pacific Health ensures professional and accurate hospital billing and related activities. This includes maintaining clear communication with clients about bills, assisting patients in understanding their financial rights, and ensuring fair and efficient service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise inpatient and outpatient charge posting, billing, and collection operations.
  • Recommend and implement policies to ensure departmental effectiveness and compliance with insurance billing regulations, government billing requirements, collection laws, and reimbursement procedures.
  • Maintain and deposit operating cash funds.
  • Complete the billing process for claims.
  • Perform billing or collection activities.
  • Maintain current patient accounts receivable balances and filing.
  • Verify PIMS patient referrals.
  • Review in-house Medicaid claims.
  • Answer client questions to ensure patients feel comfortable and informed about their health care and financial relationship with Hawai‘i Pacific Health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Management, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Three (3) years of progressive experience in a fast-paced corporate environment, including successful leadership, management, and/or supervisory experience.
