About the role
This is a great opportunity for an APP Supervisor looking to work with a team of up-and-coming physicians, and those interested in neurointervention, on a team of multi-skilled providers. Our team of surgeons and neurointerventional radiologists (NIRs) works closely with each other to offer expert neurologic care. We treat a wide range of nervous system conditions — from stroke and spine trauma to aneurysms and tumors. We specialize in: Brain tumor removal, Complex and minimally invasive spine surgery, Nerve surgery and Pain treatment.
Responsibilities
- Organize and oversee staffing of clinical sites with attending physician and Director of Operations.
- Liaison for all mid level providers for each site.
- Act as a liaison to and preceptor for PA and CRNP students.
- Perform those duties outlined in the Physician Assistant or Certified Nurse Practitioner job description.
- Implements, maintains, monitors, and communicates Human Resources policies pertaining to PA's and CRNP's.
- Assist staff in preparation of conferences.
- Provides departmental leadership to direct, supervise, and manage daily activities of the PA's and CRNP's; completes annual performance evaluations in conjunction with support staff.
- Facilitate training of staff for all PA's and CRNP's.
- Oversee staff adherence to compliance requirements including documentation, coding, licensure, internal and external audits, compliance and safety training (OSHA).
- Participates in recruitment, evaluation, and management of PA and CRNP employees.
- Troubleshoot problems in clinical areas.
- Work in conjunction with clinical staff to resolve issues.
- Primary contact for patient complaints or other clinical issues on behalf of the physician in his/her absence.
Qualifications
- Master's degree required
- 5 years as a certified nurse practitioner, physician assistant or relevant managerial experience required (at least 3 of the 5 years from APP experience)
- 3 years experience in the department specialty preferred
- PA: A graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) is required.
- CRNP: The successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program is required.
Skills and Certifications
- CRNP: National certification, eligible for licensure by board of nursing for the practicing state, eligible for certification as a CRNP by the practicing state's board of nursing.
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Act 34

Schedule
Hours: 7 AM - 3:30 PM, Some On Call and Weekends Required
