Supervisor, Operations

About the role

Supervise daily operations and supplier performance, ensuring all transportation, communication, and customer service issues are resolved to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Review all available freight for linehauls and routes to maintain the lowest cost options within a private fleet.
• Handle Load Planners and dockworkers, managing their tasks and resolving any issues they encounter.
• Investigate and resolve internal issues affecting job performance, employee morale, and customer satisfaction.
• Practice continuous improvement by reviewing procedures and work habits, and introducing Lean concepts at all levels.
• Schedule daily workload based on customer input, dispute requests, PRRs, and warning letters.
• Maintain a safe work environment, promptly documenting and reporting any issues, concerns, or incidents to management.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), particularly Oracle Transportation Management, is desirable.
• Experience with process improvement initiatives and solid leadership skills are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present clean, organized, and thorough information and data.
