Supervisor of Rail Auto Operations
Job Summary
The Rail Terminal Supervisor of Operations oversees the unloading of new automobiles from railcars at the CSX Nashville, TN rail terminal. This position does not require prior experience but provides comprehensive training. Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is required.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Schedules and coordinates automotive activities to maintain service levels.
- Maintains productivity goals and acceptable service levels based on company standards.
- Prioritizes safety, productivity, and efficiency; interacts with customers for unloading automobiles.
- Designates equipment availability to meet customer requirements and ensures operation security.
- Affords assistance in conflict resolution and mediation between co-workers.
- Determines manpower levels, schedules, and assigns duties.
- Maintains consistent contact with Assistant Terminal Managers and Terminal Manager for productivity and cost control recommendations.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License.
- Passable background check.
- Passable drug test.
- Advanced knowledge of the railroad industry from vocational education, apprenticeship, on-the-job training, or similar supervisory work experience.
- Ability to assist in conflict resolution and mediation.
- Proven managerial skills (though not required).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with various individuals.
