About the role

The Advance Planning Supervisor oversees and executes the daily workload within the Columbia Advance Planning Final Assembly & Test New Construction team. Key responsibilities include complex scheduling assessments and driving accountability within the team to own, defend, and clearly articulate the details of their portions of the schedule. Regular interface with senior leadership in Program Office, Operations, Ship Management, Detail Planning & Production Control is required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive accountability and ownership of the schedule within the team
  • Interface with senior leadership in various departments
  • Set a culture of teamwork, communication, and trust
  • Communicate schedule risks and mitigation plans to leadership
  • Ensure the enterprise relies on Artemis Network to prioritize Design/Engineering/Planning/Material/Deckplate work and influence critical business decisions

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of Electric Boat experience in Planning / Scheduling, Ship Management, Test, Operations, Engineering, or equivalent U.S. military service
  • Current or previous user of Artemis, Primavera, or related scheduling software
  • Preferred technical degree (AS or BS)
  • Previously or currently holds a supervisor position, leading a team of 5+ direct reports
  • Familiarity with IMCS, IMS, and EVMS
  • Expert user of Project Management Software (primarily MS Project and Artemis)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to identify and solve problems
  • Knowledge of Final Assembly and Test ship construction processes, with an emphasis on ship certification
  • Knowledge of submarine systems (purpose and operations)
  • Experience and knowledge of successfully integrating Test and Ship’s Force requirements into ships’ schedules is highly desirable
  • Skilled computer and Microsoft Office user
