Responsibilities
- Under general direction of the Deputy Director of Payroll & Timekeeping, perform and oversee difficult work responsibilities for the Payroll unit with wide latitude to exercise decision making and independent judgment.
- Directly supervise, train, and assist Timekeepers.
- Manage, troubleshoot, and train agency staff on the Citytime system.
- Review various reports including the 920, 161, and 700 report for accuracy.
- Coordinate and work with District Supervisors and Chiefs to ensure timely submission of timesheets in Citytime.
- Assign, review, approve, and audit work done by Timekeepers.
- Review and approve leave types in Citytime.
- Serve as liaison with HR division, Labor Relations, FISA, and the Office of Payroll Administration (OPA) on all payroll and Citytime issues.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to the duties described; or
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to the duties described; or
- Education and/or experience equivalent to the above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in the first qualification.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Payroll & Timekeeping procedures and operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and initiate projects.
- Strong knowledge of Payroll Management System (PMS), Report Management and Distribution System (RMDS), Citywide Human Resource Management System (CHRMS), and CityTime.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

$62,868.00 – $97,593.00

Additional Information
- Residency in New York City, Nassau, Orange, Rockland, Suffolk, Putnam, or Westchester counties required for employees with over two years of city service.
- New York City residency required within 90 days of hire for all other candidates.
