Responsibilities
- Promotes and restores patients’ health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care area.
- Hires, onboards, directs, mentors, develops, and schedules staff, including communicating job expectations and providing performance reviews.
- Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff to implement patient care.
- Provides physical and psychological support for patients.
- Maintains nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
- Completes patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff and following up on work results.
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
- Promotes patients’ independence by establishing patient care goals, teaching and counseling patients, friends, and family to reinforce their understanding of disease, medications, and self-care skills.
Requirements
- REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor of Nursing degree; Master’s degree preferred.
- REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and diligence. Excellent time management skills. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
