Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a safe and compliant work environment by complying with Safety Policy and Procedures Manual and General Maintenance Manual policies and procedures, as well as ensuring compliance of subordinates.
• Submits manual revisions as required for any identified ineffective processes and/or procedures.
• Schedules the department to provide adequate coverage while maintenance is being performed.
• Prepares written reports to the Maintenance Manager for Delays, Cancellations, and Irregularities.
• May sign maintenance release and assume full responsibility for aircraft under the jurisdiction of the Maintenance Department during a check.
• Ensures the responsible mechanic properly executes all necessary work records.
• Coordinates all operation planning to assure the proper work is performed on the aircraft as scheduled.
• Monitors aircraft appearance and ensures aircraft are well presented.
• Accounts for the performance of assigned personnel.
• Maintains liaison with Maintenance Control, Production Planning, and other departments.
• Ensures adequate tool inventories are maintained and proper use of these tools is observed.
• Works in an outside maintenance operation to ensure airworthiness of aircraft.
• Delivers comprehensive pre-shift briefings to ensure the team is well informed and creates opportunities for open dialogue.
• Serves as a point of consultation and decision-making for matters requiring instruction or higher authority regarding maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations, or other functions affecting aircraft airworthiness.
• Provides direct supervision of the Lead Mechanic and delegates duties as necessary, while retaining overall responsibility.
• Responsible for the Company’s Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification.
• Successful track record of leadership in aviation maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to guide and manage effectively, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and ensure high-quality, timely completion of tasks.
• Minimum of one year of hands-on experience working on turbine-powered aircraft.
• Thorough understanding of aircraft maintenance processes and proficiency in utilizing applicable manuals such as the General Maintenance Manual (GMM), Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Fault Isolation Manual (FIM), and wiring diagrams.
• Proficient in the use of required calibrated test equipment for diagnostic and operational testing of aircraft systems.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Passport or equivalent within 90 days of starting position.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines, and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb up and down stairs, lift weight up to 25 lbs, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
