Supervisor of Case Management
Supervision and Leadership
The Case Management team plays a vital role in helping residents navigate challenges, build self-sufficiency, strengthen community connections, and achieve long-term housing stability. The Case Management team is supervised and supported by the Lead Case Manager.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and develop Case Managers and Tenant Services Coordinators through regular supervision, training, mentorship, performance management, and professional growth opportunities.
- Provide hands-on support for complex client situations, including case consultation, crisis response, joint meetings, problem-solving, and service coordination.
- Facilitate Multidisciplinary Approach to Services (MAS) meetings and coordinate care planning with internal teams, property management, community providers, and external service partners.
- Promote Housing First, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and client-centered practices across all aspects of service delivery.
- Review and monitor caseloads, service plans, referrals, assessments, client documentation, and HMIS entries to ensure quality, timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Conduct file reviews, documentation audits, and quality assurance activities to support adherence to organizational, contractual, and funding requirements.
- Monitor program performance, housing outcomes, and service data to identify trends, strengthen operations, and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Carry a caseload and provide direct case management services as needed to support staffing, operational needs, housing stability, and positive client outcomes.
- Foster a team culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and service excellence.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in case management, social services, or a related human services setting.
- One to two years of lead or supervisory experience supporting employee development and service delivery.
- Experience providing services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, preferably within Permanent Supportive Housing or other housing-focused programs.
- Experience supervising, coaching, or mentoring employees in a client-centered service environment.
- Valid California driver's license required.

- Strong knowledge of case management, service planning, documentation standards, and client-centered engagement practices.
- Understanding of Housing First, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, conflict resolution, and strengths-based approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong problem-solving, crisis intervention, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to analyze program data, monitor performance metrics, and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Experience reviewing documentation and ensuring compliance with program, contractual, and funding requirements.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients, employees, community providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency with HMIS, case management databases, Microsoft Office, and related information systems.
- Able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to serving individuals experiencing homelessness with compassion, respect, empathy, empowerment, and dignity.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time leadership position supporting Permanent Supportive Housing programs located throughout the community. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday; however, operational needs may occasionally require schedule flexibility to support employee supervision, client needs, crisis response activities, meetings, or program operations across multiple locations.
Compensation & Benefits
- The anticipated starting pay range for this role is $27.63 to $31.77 per hour, paid bi-weekly.
- Final placement and starting salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, certifications, and internal equity considerations.
