Supervisor Nursing - Weekend Night

About the Role

Provides direct and indirect patient care under a physician’s plan, ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulations. Coordinates hospital and patient activities to create a safe environment, identifies operational issues, and implements corrective actions. Supports staff to deliver effective, patient-centered care, facilitates resource utilization, and collaborates on patient placement.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily departmental operations, communication, and regulatory compliance.
• Supervises and evaluates patient care quality, including in-home staff assessments.
• Reviews and adjusts nursing care plans as needed.
• Participates in on-call duties, maintains confidentiality, and promotes a positive work environment.
• Develops and evaluates staff education and orientation programs.
• Identifies improvement opportunities and communicates with management.
• Contributes to committees on infection prevention and process improvement, conducts chart audits.
• Fosters a caring, welcoming environment for staff and patients, ensuring effective communication and feedback.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• 4+ years of RN experience in an acute care hospital.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of nursing regulations, medical terminology, patient rights, and HIPAA.
• Strong clinical data analysis skills.
• Licensed RN in the relevant state.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation course or passing challenge exam.
• Proficiency in medication administration (for external hires).

Physical Demands

Frequent sitting/standing, keyboard use, lifting up to 25 lbs., and potential activities like kneeling, bending, squatting, and CPR.
