Supervisor, Mobile Radiology

About the role

The Radiology Mobile Supervisor at Sanford Health is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Mobile Imaging Service. This includes scheduling, staffing, equipment assignment, and patient flow. The position also involves supervising and directing staff, conducting performance appraisals, and participating in hiring, promoting, and disciplinary actions.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot PACS, computers, monitors, and other radiology equipment.
• Support the radiology department with electronic medical records, PACS, dictation systems, image sharing programs, etc.
• Conduct performance appraisals and make recommendations for rewards and discipline.
• Assist in the educational process of students and provide input for budget preparation.
• Supervise and coordinate the care and maintenance of various equipment.
• Maintain familiarity with equipment operation and direct technical staff.
• Review and understand policies regarding safety, emergency preparedness, hazardous substances, and infection control.
• Provide input to capital requests and participate in annual appraisals for radiology staff.
• Obtain and interpret patient information to improve personalized treatment and care.

Requirements

• Completion of formal radiographic technology training in an AMA or JRCERT approved school.
• Minimum of two years' experience as a staff radiologic technologist.
• Previous supervisory experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Licensure with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDMIRT) if working in North Dakota.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary.

• Thorough understanding of diagnostic radiographic principles.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot various radiology equipment.
• Leadership qualities to provide direction to staff and handle inter- and intradepartmental conflicts.
• Ability to function independently and assume the duties of department supervisor as necessary.
• Ability to learn new technology and orient new technologists.
• Professional ability to obtain and interpret patient information.
